SE Ranking review: what the plans include, where they stop and who should pick another tool

Last materially reviewed 2026-10-03

Quick answerSE Ranking suits agencies and in-house teams that track several sites daily and send client reports. A single-site owner with a short keyword list should look at Moz Pro Starter or Ubersuggest instead.

SE Ranking review verdict: built for multi-site work, more than a single site needs

SE Ranking is a sound choice if you run rank tracking, site audits and client reports for several websites and want them in one subscription. It is more than a single-site owner with a short keyword list needs. This review is based on SE Ranking's pricing page and help center as read on 3 October 2026, not on hands-on use of the product.

The reason is capacity. The entry plan, Core, covers 10 projects and 2,000 keyword targets checked daily, with one manager seat. That is sized for a consultant or a small agency. If you track one site and 50 keywords, nearly all of that allowance goes unused, and a smaller tool will do the job.

What SE Ranking does: rank tracking, audits, research and reports

SE Ranking's help center presents it as SEO software aimed at agencies and in-house marketing teams. Work is organized into projects, each tied to one website. The main tools are:

  • Rank Tracker: positions in Google, Google Mobile, Bing, Yahoo! and YouTube by location and device, checked once a day.
  • Website Audit and On-Page SEO Checker: technical and on-page issues, with crawls you can schedule weekly or monthly.
  • Keyword, competitor and backlink research: one-off checks for any domain, plus backlink monitoring for your own.
  • Report Builder: PDF, XLS or HTML reports from templates, sent on a daily, weekly or monthly schedule.
  • Local Marketing and Content Editor: business listings, Google Business Profile posts and content briefs.

Data can also leave the platform through an API, an MCP server for AI assistants, and connections to Google Analytics 4, Search Console and Looker Studio.

SE Ranking plans and limits as read on 3 October 2026

SE Ranking sells three plans: Core, Growth and Enterprise. Enterprise has custom limits and pricing. The pricing page showed euro prices to the computer used for this research, so no dollar price is quoted here. The page does state that annual billing saves 20% against monthly billing. Check the live figure through this site's SE Ranking pricing guide before you budget.

SE Ranking's own pages disagree on API credits: the pricing table lists 25,000 a month on Core and 100,000 on Growth, but its Rank Tracker page gives 100,000 for Core and 300,000 for Growth, so confirm the allowance before relying on it.

The trial runs 14 days with no credit card. The pricing page lists its starter usage as up to 10 projects, 750 tracked keywords a day and 20 AI prompts a day.

Strengths the SE Ranking documentation supports

  • Daily checks as standard. Rankings update once a day on every project, and a Recheck Data button runs a manual check in between.
  • Deep results. The plans table lists Google top 100 tracking on both Core and Growth, and up to 20 competitors can be added per project.
  • API and MCP in the entry plan. Core includes a monthly Data API credit allowance, and the Project API runs on plan limits with no add-on to buy.
  • Local tools included. Both plans list 3 locations and 1,500 local and map keywords.
  • Help with moving. The pricing FAQ says assisted migration is free with an annual subscription.

Documented limits to check before you buy SE Ranking

  • The keyword quota counts pairs. Each keyword and search engine pair uses one unit, so 1,000 keywords tracked on Google desktop and Google mobile use all 2,000 Core units.
  • Check frequency is fixed. The help center says daily checks cannot be switched to weekly, so you cannot stretch the quota by checking less often.
  • Paused projects still count. Deactivating a project does not free its keywords. You have to delete them. Be careful: deleting a search engine or region also erases its ranking history, and the help center says that data cannot be recovered.
  • White label costs extra. It comes with the Agency Pack add-on, which is sold only alongside annual plans.
  • Refunds are narrow. Payments are non-refundable unless the service was not delivered as promised. Automatic renewal is switched off from the Billing page.
  • One session per login. A shared login hands off between users, so teams need paid seats or guest links, and guest links start on Growth.

Who should choose Moz Pro, Ubersuggest or Serpstat instead

Pick by the shape of your work. The figures below come from each vendor's own pricing page as read on 3 October 2026.

  • One website, up to 50 keywords, weekly updates are fine: Moz Pro Starter is $49 a month billed monthly for one campaign. See SE Ranking vs Moz.
  • One website and you would rather pay once: Ubersuggest sells lifetime plans, and its Individual plan covers one project with 125 tracked keywords. See SE Ranking vs Ubersuggest.
  • More than 30 small client sites: Growth stops at 30 projects, while Serpstat's Team plan lists unlimited projects at $129 a month billed monthly, or $100 a month with its annual discount. See SE Ranking vs Serpstat.

If you manage several sites, up to the 30 projects Growth allows, need daily positions and send scheduled client reports, SE Ranking fits the job its own documentation describes. Start with the trial and load one real project before paying.
